The Old Church Gallery Moore Story
Old Church Gallery Moore is a privately owned and operated gallery featuring paintings, photography, sculpture, ceramics, hand made jewelry, beautifully crafted woodwork and many other gifts nestled in the foothills of the dividing range a little over an hour and a half from Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast or Toowoomba.
Gallery owners David Mackenzie and Deborah Johnston-Booker are delighted to be able to share their vision of a beautiful art space featuring a diverse range of work from established and emerging artists as well as allowing visitors time to relax and enjoy a cuppa and a snack.
You can enjoy home made lunches on the covered deck or out in the shade of the gardens, with a selection of cold meats, pickles or chutneys, local cheeses, fresh salads, home made cakes, scones or biscuits, juices with fresh fruit, a selection of premium quality Elmstock traditional or herbal leaf teas or Fonzie Abbott plunger coffee made to your liking.
The Old Church Gallery Moore is also now the home of Mackenzie Fabrics, a unique textile collection featuring prints from the Australian bush in fabrics suitable for upholstery, cushions, lampshades, curtains, sheers, scarves and lots of other uses.
Originally built in the early 20th century, this beautiful traditional wooden building operated as a Catholic church for over 80 years before it was turned over to private ownership. The current owners, appreciating the peaceful and calming energy of the old church, purchased the property in 1998 with the dream of eventually creating a special art space to share.
